Engage Article about Wahiawa Commuity Church

Today, just 12 days before we head out into the Pacific, I received a link from Sharron Sankovich to an article in Engage magazine about the Wahiawa Community Church (WCC) in Hawaii. This is where our team will be working next month. Follow this link Engage article by Kaitlyn Williams to learn about the amazing life changing ministries happening there in the center of the island of Oahu. This may be a small church, but there are big things happening as they minister in tangible was that meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the people in their area. We are excited to have the privilege to come along side the WCC ministry team and parishioners and help them continue making renovations to their facilities so they can continue to serve and meet the needs of the people in their community and do so in even bigger and more effective ways. Please pray with us for this church and their amazing ministries and for the people they serve in their community. And please pray that our NCO Work and Witness team will be a blessing to them all as we seek to serve as God directs during our two weeks in Wahiawa.

Postscript: Within the first few days into our time working at WCC, our team has had the pleasure of getting to know all four people featured prominently in this article.
Within our first few days working at WCC, our team has already had the pleasure of meeting all four people featured prominently in the Engage Article by Kaitlyn Williams .

We have had the privilege of working with Pastor John Miller and Rev. Marissa Greentree here at the WCC every day.

Karli, the first person Kaitlyn tells about in the article, came to work at the church Saturday and she and her mother joined us for dinner our first Saturday evening in Hawaii.

Pastor LeVander McQueen stopped by during our first day of work and shared with us about his food ministry work and his efforts to start an accredited Associate Degree program in Bible here at WCC. He already has students working on courses and with Pastor John's support, he plans to offer the program courses from the WCC facility we are working on right now. The vision is for people to come and study and even stay here at the WCC while in courses, The hope is that this can be a place where people are trained to go back to their homes, many in remote areas in these islands, and share the gospel and make disciples.

Pastor John shared with me that Kaitlyn Williams will be coming to Wahiawa in summer 2017 to serve as an intern at WCC .
