Ohana (Family) Sunday at WCC

Today was our first Sunday here with the people of the WCC. Since it was the first Sunday of the month it was Ohana (Family) Sunday. For the WCC that means fellowshiping over breakfast together then enjoying a worship service lead by the children under the direction of Rev. Marissa Greentree.

Here below is Charlie talking with fellow former police officer Joe Acosta the founder of ALEA Bridge, a homeless outreach program here in central Oahu. We will be going to work at one of his facilities this Friday.

The WCC building stays busy on Sundays. As the morning service wraps up, people are busy getting things reset for a Filipino service in the afternoon.

After church we headed out for some shopping and site seeing around Oahu. Pat Davies arrived to join us late last night. She gets the credit for this long range shot of Tim, Ken, me and Kenny spelling out OHIO down below her on a lava field.

We went to the Swap Meet at Aloha Stadium.

Then we spent the rest of our Sunday site seeing, whale watching and hiking on the east end of Oahu. I posted some pano shots from today on Facebook that do more justice to these amazing vistas (and show some members of our team), but here are a few stills that give a glimpse of the beauty we saw today on our day of rest.

Tomorrow morning we get started bright and early since the concrete truck is supposed to arrive at 7:30 AM to allow us to pour the handicap ramp at the parsonage.
