Wednesday at WCC

Wednesday March 8, 2017 at WCC was another action packed and productive day for the NCO W&W team. For me the day was all windows windows windows, which meant ladders ladders ladders. I spent most of my day up or near a ladder or on a roof helping Kenny and Charlie install, trim and caulk new windows. So my pictures today are mostly from the vantage point of the window crew. I did not get a lot of good work shots of others today, but hopefully I'll have more photos from around the work site from other people to share later.

I think everyone was too tired tonight to forward me their favorite shots before bedtime. But I do know lots of projects advanced today besides windows. The paint crew continued their work painting walls and window trim. Other team members started installing floor protectors on chairs to protect the recently installed flooring in the sanctuary. More landscaping was cleared and updated. The forms came off the new concrete ramp so it can cure in preparation for railings to be installed soon. More electrical wiring and lighting was installed as well, including a flood light on the stained glass cross shaped window, so light will shine through it at night. California Avenue is a busy street and there is a bus stop right beside the church straight across from the newly lit cross window. Other projects are ongoing in the church and in the parsonage, not to mention all the amazing behind the scene but crucial work of the team members keeping us well fed and our cloths clean.

Tomorrow we hope to finish trimming the new windows so the paint crew can take over and do the trim painting. Pastor John reported at dinner that he now has a title for the trailer so we are moving closer to realizing the dream of a mobile kioask. We hope to start the kiosk build tomorrow. Our goal is to put it on the trailer and into service feeding the homeless in the area before we leave the island. Enjoy some pictures of the day. Aloha for now!
